Empowering Youth Athletes
We collect and redistribute sports gear to young athletes who need it — because every kid deserves to play, regardless of what they can afford.
GearforGood is a student-led community organization built on a simple idea: no young athlete should have to sit out because they can't afford gear. We collect lightly used sports equipment and get it into the hands of players who need it — completely free of charge.
We care about sustainability too — giving gear a second life instead of letting it collect dust or end up in a landfill. GearforGood is community-driven and always free for recipients. Our current focus is soccer, but our mission extends to any sport where a lack of equipment is keeping a kid off the field.

GearforGood exists to remove financial barriers from youth sports. We collect lightly used equipment, redistribute it to young athletes who need it, and do it all for free. We believe every kid — regardless of what their family can afford — deserves access to the gear that lets them compete, grow, and belong to something bigger than themselves. Sports change lives. Gear makes sports possible.
We gather lightly used sports gear from the community through drop-off locations and scheduled pickups — keeping equipment in play, not in landfills.
We get gear into the hands of young athletes who need it most — through exchange events, direct giveaways, and community partnerships.
We believe access to gear builds more than skill — it builds confidence, belonging, and a healthier life for every young athlete we reach.
Right now, we are running our first gear drive — collecting lightly used soccer cleats ahead of the spring season. Once we've gathered enough pairs, we'll host an exchange and giveaway event where players can swap ill-fitting cleats for a size that works, or simply receive a pair at no cost. This is our first initiative. As GearforGood grows, we plan to expand to additional sports and gear types.
We're currently accepting lightly used soccer cleats through drop-off and pickup. Fill out the form to get started.
Once we've collected enough gear, we'll announce a time and location for the exchange and giveaway event.
Players leave with gear that fits. GearforGood keeps growing — more sports, more gear, more kids on the field.
As current juniors and former Mountain Top League athletes, we grew up understanding what sports can do for a young person. The structure, the friendships, the confidence — it all starts with access. We started GearforGood because we wanted to make sure more kids get that same access, no matter what.
We've seen how the cost of equipment quietly pushes kids out of sports. A missing pair of cleats, worn-out sneakers, an old helmet — small things that add up to a kid sitting on the sidelines. That's the gap we're here to close. GearforGood exists to make sure cost is never the reason a young athlete can't compete.
The right gear helps young players show up, feel ready, and compete with belief in themselves.
Reusing gear keeps it out of landfills and in the hands of players who need it most.
Sports bring people together. Every player deserves to feel like they belong on the field.
Access to sports gear means access to activity and all the physical and mental benefits that come with it.
You can drop off gear at either of the addresses below at your convenience.
Can't make it to a drop-off? We'll come to you. Schedule a pickup through the Google Form.
All donors must fill out our Google Form before donating. It collects the details we need — gear type, condition, and your preferred collection method. It takes less than two minutes and helps us stay organized so we can get gear to the right people.
The exact date of our exchange and giveaway event will be confirmed based on how many pairs we collect, scheduling availability, and the soccer season start date. We want to make sure every player is geared up before the first game.
Dates we're considering
Location is still being finalized. Confirmed details will be shared through our Google Form and social channels closer to the event.
